Pushkar

Today we love India. This is Pushkar. We have splurged spending $5 each per night and we have secured our very own Marharaja room. A clean neat room adorned with ceiling lamps of red, blue, purple and green. A comfortable bed with new-ish looking warm doonas and above a large mural of an indian wedding ceremony. The lush, sheer orange curtains give us privacy when drawn or allow in copious amounts of window light when we so desire. We also have our own bathroom and it's an unusual bonus to have the shower head pointing away from the toilet seat.

It's been a time of taking it slowly and taking it in. Yoga classes inside the walls of a temple and long walks up to mountain views as well as lazy reading hours in our rooftop hammocks. The only occasional interruption comes calling across rooftops from a cheeky singing voice - "Australia! Australia! Australia!" When we do turn around we are met with a huge Indian grin, beaming from beneath a golden yellow sari. We are yet to take up her invitation - "My house... come!" as she points below.

It's going to be hard to leave this one...

Fascinating reading girls, but still unsure whether India is the tourist destination we are looking for. Despite that it seems you are getting great cultural experiences, some what missing from down town Loftus. Keep up the journal. We look forward to each instalment. Love Mum & Dad

What a disappointment to hear your voice but miss the call. Timing was good for a Sat night but were at a special family service at the time. Had taken Rach to watch Tam play basketball (beaten again! She played well) then lunch with Rach; took James to work. Then to service. Our map let us down. Couldn't find place from which you called. Enjoyed Jazz and tea at Blackburn lake this arvo, took Tex (neighbour who can't see much. Enjoying blogs. Hope continue to enjoy.Would loved to have talked! Thanks for effort. Love and peace. Hi Ali and Michelle - just thought you would like to know that Mr Rudd has said SORRY on Wed 13th Feb and there were great scenes of joy! Parliament was opened by aborigines from that area doing a traditional welcome dance - and it has been decided to open parliament every time with that kind of ceremony and acknowledgment. Of course, now there will be lots of talk and requests and being sued etc. for compensation, but the work of healing has begun and all the prior prime ministers were except Mr. Howard - could you believe it? Looking at Puri on the atlas you have certainly travelled a long way and will you now be enjoying being near the sea for a while? The day before dad's birthday, it is the 50th anniversary of his ordination - a very important memory for him and he would like to celebrate somehow. Kaitlyn has her visit to hospital on Wed. 5th March to have a balloon inserted through her groin to try and stretch her pulmonary artery this way. If it is not successful she will have to have some more major surgery some time, as it will not continue to serve her needs as she grows. Just realized that Michelle is arriving home on Good Friday - Easter is so early this year! Love and blessings for now, Mum and Dad.
